Colour Chronicles - Where it all began!
As we hurtle towards December and the end of the year, I've been feeling nostalgic thinking back to how Colour Chronicles came to be back in 2018 so thought I would take you on a trip down memory lane....
IT'S ALL ABOUT
CHILDHOOD MEMORIES
Back in 2018 when my daughter turned three, I was filling out her childhood record journal, which I loved but I really thought she should be having an input into it as well as me.
She was so chatty and funny, I wanted to capture life from her point of view as well as mine, I wanted a snapshot of her in her own words at that moment in time and felt incredible joy at the thought of her being able to read it back.
I wrote out some questions for her in the book I had and her answers were just gorgeous - funny, sweet, and nothing like I would have imagined.
I couldn't stop thinking about this book in my head, this book I wanted to create for my daughter and for other children, and this is how The Book of You came to be!
CREATING A BRAND
WHAT MATTERS?
Inclusivity was at the heart of what I wanted to create. I wanted a book that didn't assume all families had a mum, a dad, and two sets of grandparents. I wanted to create a childhood record book that was modern, one that was designed for all children and their families, one that I wanted for my children, and one that is enough to cover enough without being overwhelming to fill in.
"The Book of You has become an essential part of our birthday routine. Watching my children delight in reading memories from the previous years makes it everything I ever dreamed it could be."

ALL THE FEELS ON
CHRISTMAS DAY
It was on Christmas Day that same year in 2018 when I had a moment which stopped me in my tracks, a moment when I felt so proud of The Book of You and everything it stood for. I thought about all the people who had a bought a copy and were giving it to a little one that morning with such love and good wishes for their childhood and it made me very emotional.
It's not always easy running a small business, in fact it's hard most of the time but every Christmas morning, I feel grateful and glad that I took that leap of faith and believed in the book.
